Bill we are about the same age I see....grew up wanting to rock to DBTR and Cin Girl.. then taught ourselves guitar and started to make it happen...people we jammed with started to comment about how much we sounded like Neil and that sealed the deal...all Neil all the time. Really love the Philadelphia cover that is playing right now...have to teach myself piano when I get the time.

Hope you get many more opportunities to share your talents and your love on Neil with lives audiences. I am hoping for my first paid gig. If anyone is interested in hearing my stuff log into YouTube.com and in the search window plug rustedstevie...but please call me Steve.

Let's keep in touch ... after all Rust Never Sleeps!

Your site, Bill, is very easy to navigate, easy to read, and has great photography! How could such a crazed Neil Young Fan put something together like this - must have a 'heart of gold'... or searching for one.

Hello Bill,
I must say that you done some really good songs, and the covers sounds great... :)

I'm a big fan of Neil too. Started as a drummer in a Neil Young cover band for about 8 years ago, and after that I was stuck... Now I play guitarr and also started to sing. I have a studio at home and when I'm not record my own material, it always ends up with a Neil Young cover :)

Neil's music just gettin better for every day, and I can always find a song that fits my mood for the day... It's just amazing...

Keep up your good work...

Bill, that's a great site.I really like the layout. It's nice an easy to both read and find things. I find some sites a little hard on my getting older eyes lol..Your songs are fantastic! And when you cover Neil, you sound so much like him!

I highly recommend Bill Laing's CD, "West 231." Besides Bill's excellent covers of Neil Young songs (sung in a voice eerily reminiscent of Neil himself), there are also some great original compositions such as "West 231," "Wounded Deer" and "A Christmas Wish from Iraq." Very professional production standards and a great sound overall. Of the Neil covers, the highlights for me include "Don't Let It Bring You Down," "Pocahontas," "Hey, Hey, My, My (Into the Black)," "Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing" and "Philadelphia."

Congratulations on the website. It's easy to navigate and the layout and graphics are of excellent quality. I really like the blue and black colour scheme. Nice choice of sound clips and a download too.

I saw you at the concert last year in Winnipeg. It was at some book store. Really liked the sound. I was eating in the restaurant and thought that Neil had come in to sing. When are you playing Winnipeg again?
